Drake’s began in East London in 1977, a stone’s throw from the city’s silk-weaving roots in Spitalfields. Originally a manufacturer of men’s scarves, shawls, and throws, the company has found a loyal following among both high-fashion boutiques and conservative tailors in the more demanding markets of Paris, Milan, and Tokyo. The company soon began producing handmade ties and handkerchiefs under the watchful eye of its namesake founder, Michael Drake, who quickly took his place at the heart of the business.
