Four items not to forget
Whether for a short weekend getaway or a long summer holiday, packing smartly is always an excellent way to fully enjoy your stay and focus on your well-being. Let’s discover together four items and accessories that every contemporary Gentleman should have in his suitcase, wherever he is headed.
1) A Tailored Suit
Summer is not the enemy of men’s style; it just requires a better understanding of its basic rules. For this reason, we recommend never forgoing a beautiful tailored suit in your suitcase, no matter what your holiday plans are. Whether it’s made of linen, cotton, or lightweight wool, a bespoke suit will give you the charm of a contemporary dandy, leaving a lasting impression on the people you meet.
In detail:
- Linen is ideal for an aperitif by the sea or at the rooftop bar of the hotel in the city where you are staying.
- A good alternative, however, could be a cotton suit, a sturdy and cool fabric. It will hold its shape better than linen and can be used for both formal and casual occasions.
- If linen and cotton don’t convince you, and you prefer a more classic fabric, the last option could be a suit in lightweight wool, a very light natural fabric, 230-255 grams, lighter and more breathable than cotton, and resistant to wrinkles.
2) The Swimwear
A swimsuit can be useful for relaxing in the spa of a mountain or city hotel, as well as on the beach. So, it’s impossible not to pack one. But how do you choose one that flatters you?
Generally speaking, it is well known that boxer shorts are the simplest yet most suitable choice, able to adapt to different body types. To choose the right pair, simply consider the length of the swimsuit in relation to your build.
If you are tall and slender, you might prefer models that reach the knee and are slightly looser. If you have particularly thin legs, we recommend paying attention to the width and opting for lighter colors to avoid the “breadstick effect.” Conversely, if you are shorter than average and not very slim, we suggest a shorter model, but not excessively tight.
Regarding patterns, feel free to be bold. Use this item as an opportunity to be as light-hearted as the season you are experiencing! For example, Mc2 Saint Barth caters to men who want to reveal something unexpected about themselves. On the beaches, we’ll see eternal children, art enthusiasts, animal lovers, tireless workers, and ambitious individuals. On the other hand, if boldness isn’t your style, the solid color models from Drumohr will be the timeless classic to fall back on.
3) Sunglasses
Sunglasses will be one of those accessories you must not forget. They are indispensable allies whether you’re atop a mountain in Val Gardena, at the beach in Versilia, or in the city on a regular workday. Which ones should you choose? It depends on your face shape!
- If you have a diamond-shaped face: go bold with large, square frames for a daring and irresistible look!
- For an oval face: any glasses will be perfect, from square models for a touch of character to more rounded shapes for a sweet and versatile look!
- With a square face: choose round glasses to soften your features while maintaining your distinctive character!
4) The Hat
Here we are at the last essential item to pack in your summer suitcase. Who doesn’t love the sun? Enduring it for hours, however, can become bothersome. A hat will be an indispensable ally both for style and for the function it will serve. Which hat to choose? Well, classic Panama hats are absolutely our favorites, but for sporty looks, those with brims, with an American flair, are perfect too.
