The interview with Carlotta Chiarini

Sara Fumagallo: Could you briefly tell us the story of Eredi Chiarini? When and where did it begin?

Carlotta Chiarini: It all started in the late 1800s with my paternal great-grandmother’s passion for fabrics—a passion that evolved through generations. After my grandmother, in 1970, my father and uncle decided to break away from the old family setup, based on the classic management of a fabric store, and opened the first contemporary men’s clothing store. At that time, it represented a new way of dressing, riding the wave of the motto “latest fashion on young skin.” It was an informal style that blended classic English dressing principles with American practicality and typically Italian taste. Today, remaining true to our DNA, we offer a meticulous selection of quality-conscious and quite luxurious garments, an ode to timeless elegance.

Sara Fumagallo: What are your mission and vision?

Carlotta Chiarini: I have always been drawn to men’s clothing, undoubtedly because I grew up in this environment, but also because I am fascinated by the attention to detail, materials, and craftsmanship. In our family, we have always been driven by the vision of creating a world where men’s clothing becomes a timeless expression of sophistication and attention to detail. Our passion stems from the understanding that the concept of a Gentleman is intrinsically linked to the quality of materials and craftsmanship. Our mission is to offer a meticulous selection of garments and accessories that embody timeless yet contemporary elegance. Constant research and commitment guide us in presenting a classic style infused with modernity, intended for those who prefer quality over fleeting trends. We cater to the man who embraces good taste, appreciates our dedication to professionalism, and finds in our style a haven of authenticity.

Sara Fumagallo: In today’s world, how important is online presence?

Carlotta Chiarini: I believe that digital presence is not only relevant but crucial in promoting our identity and communicating our style philosophy. That’s why, at this very moment, we are investing in a digital rebranding: we have formed a specialized team with the goal of conveying our offline reality online. Additionally, in our case, digital presence is an excellent channel to maintain contact with our international clients, thereby establishing a lasting relationship over time.

Sara Fumagallo: How would you describe the typical customer of the boutique? What are their characteristics?

Carlotta Chiarini: Our typical customer is a professional, perhaps whose father has also been our customer in the past. They don’t have much free time to dedicate to themselves, but whatever time they have, they devote to family and sports.

Sara Fumagallo: Future projects?

Carlotta Chiarini: To continue what my father and uncle, not forgetting my grandparents and great-grandparents, have skillfully built and strive to evolve it to the best without losing our DNA.
