Eredi Chiarini: How did the idea of creating Montecore come about, and what philosophies and values guide your brand?
Montecore: The birth of the Montecore brand was the natural evolution of my journey as a designer for major outerwear companies. Every garment I designed for others brought me closer to the moment I would finally design for myself. The goal of Montecore is to create a product that lasts forever, with impeccable cuts, contemporary design, and the ability to withstand the test of time. Our elegance is derived from three factors: perfect fit, comfort, and quality of fabrics.
Eredi Chiarini: What has been the most significant moment for Montecore to date?
Montecore: This profession comprises numerous significant moments, all encompassed within the same season, then repeated with the next and the one after that. When you create a collection, you think about a style, its fabric, inspired by a function, and designed for a person. The culmination of a thousand actions materializes when the first prototypes arrive from the workshop. However, the satisfaction lasts only momentarily because you’re continually modifying and improving that garment. And when you finally dress a model and see the shapes enhance, the fabric adapts to the body thanks to the tailoring techniques you’ve chosen; that’s when your work makes sense.
Eredi Chiarini: What is the most emblematic piece of the brand for the FW23-24 season?
Montecore: A garment that customers of Eredi Chiarini will surely appreciate is the field jacket in English wool with soft feather padding. It strikes the perfect balance between:
- The dynamism of a military garment

- The quality of combed wool with its characteristic shaved appearance
- The warmth provided by the 90/10 feather padding
Eredi Chiarini: Montecore is known for its attention to detail and the quality of materials used. Could you tell us more about your research and selection of fabrics?
Montecore: A well-crafted outerwear piece is one that, despite its apparent simplicity, incorporates numerous details to ensure it drapes correctly on the body of the wearer. And it all starts with the fabric. On the one hand, I work closely with manufacturers to select fibers that combine lightweight, durability, and protection. On the other hand, I am developing technical fabrics exclusively with a Japanese weaving technique already present in this winter collection.
Eredi Chiarini: What are the distinctive strengths of your collections?
Montecore: TThe value our pieces hold is meant to last. We produce garments that can withstand the test of time with impeccable cuts and contemporary designs. The elegance we strive for is the result of three essential elements:

Eredi Chiarini: According to Montecore, what is the evolution of men’s clothing and how is the company adapting to these changes?
Montecore: Throughout history, men’s clothing has shown that it evolves at a slow pace, starting from a solid technical and stylistic foundation that can be pretty rigid and gradually gaining in lightness and functionality over time. This evolution is primarily driven by fabric advancements, which are the true catalysts for innovation in men’s clothing. It is thanks to technical fabrics that we can make, for example, the peacoat soft and weather-resistant, turning it into a garment suitable for everyday wear. Montecore adapts to these changes by constantly exploring new fabric technologies and incorporating them into our designs, ensuring that our garments meet the evolving needs and expectations of the modern man.
Eredi Chiarini: Sustainability is an increasingly important topic in the fashion industry. What initiatives do you adopt to reduce the environmental impact of your productions?
Montecore: As all gentlemen know, an elegant garment made with durable and high-quality fabrics is designed to stand the test of time without going out of style. Longevity is a fundamental aspect of sustainability. In addition, Montecore has a repair program for those garments that have been worn beyond their limits. Furthermore, the majority of synthetic fabrics we use are recycled, reducing waste and resource consumption. We are committed to continuously exploring and implementing sustainable practices throughout our production processes.
Eredi Chiarini: What are your plans for the future? Do you have any plans to expand into new markets or introduce new product lines?
Montecore: I have an ambitious and sustainable vision for the future of Montecore. The goal is to expand our international presence, focusing on key markets such as Japan, the United States, and Southeast Asia. These markets offer great opportunities and are receptive to our artisanal excellence. Simultaneously, my commitment to research and developing exclusive fabrics will continue to drive the brand’s innovation. It will be an exciting challenge that allows us to carry forward our tailoring savoir-faire and grow the Montecore brand globally.
